SLR International Corporation is seeking a full time Associate Environmental Scientist with four to seven years of experience to join our environmental due diligence group in Atlanta, Georgia.  The candidate must have experience performing, managing, and reviewing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and manufacturing facilities. The candidate should also have experience in proposal preparation, budgeting, and scoping of due diligence related work. In addition, experience with regulatory compliance programs regarding air emissions, wastewater handling, and waste storage and disposal is preferred.

The position will provide support on a variety of transactional due diligence projects for a wide client base and junior staff mentoring. Preferable candidates have strong relevant employment background and a passion for environmental work. This full-time position will be based out of our Atlanta, Georgia office, and is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.

The ideal candidate would have expertise in the management of multiple project efforts and project teams, which include coordination with staff resources, clients, sub-contractors, and regulatory agencies. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills that include the ability review and provide feedback on proposals, reports, and other technical documents. Capabilities and experience with regulators including negotiations related to client work objectives is a plus.

Technical Skills/Experience

  • Two to four years of "hands-on" experience conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations, including RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA regulations, as well as the ASTM E 1527 and 2247 standards
  • Experience in proposal preparation, budgeting, and scoping of due diligence related work
  • Working knowledge of environmental remediation technologies and state regulatory programs
  • Ability to mentor junior staff
  • Experience with technical writing


  • Bachelor of Science in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related science degree required
  • Good analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work well independently as well as a part of a team
  • Ability to travel by car, rental car, and airplane. Travel approximately 30% of the time to include overnight travel is required
  • Valid driver's license required
