SLR International Corporation is seeking a Principal Engineer, Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Hydrogeologist to join and lead our growing operations in Phoenix, Arizona and the U.S. Southwest region. The qualified candidate will have at least 15 years of relevant work experience in mine and industrial sector consulting and project management. 

Key functions in this role include developing business, managing deliverables to SLR clients and management team, and oversight of projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding client networking and relationship building skills, backed by a proven reputation for providing highest quality service to clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field required
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience
  • Registered PE or PG in Arizona is preferred, but not required
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience with a small to midsize consultancy is appreciated
  • Strong client network is essential to success
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing consulting assignments and working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Capable of managing a variety of project deliverables with varying timelines
  • Proven project management experience from proposal stage to completion to include establishing project scope, budget and schedules, client communications, and managing deliverables
  • Proven experience working with a team of diverse professionals
  • Skill in budgeting and goal-setting
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver's license required

  • Manage overall project/program budgets and scheduled, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of project management and effective delegation and oversight of group or program tasks and goals
  • Provide final senior review of technical or promotional communications prepared by others, and demonstrate capabilities and experience with regulators including negotiations related to client work scopes
  • Effectively mentor and develop junior staff
