SLR International Corporation is seeking an Associate or Senior Engineer to join our growing Baton Rouge, Louisiana operations. Qualified candidates will have a degree in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering, or environmental science, and possess 5 to 10 years of previous experience in the areas of air quality and compliance consulting. This position will offer support to new and existing air quality and compliance projects in the Gulf Coast region. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization. This position offers the opportunity to work in either a full or part time capacity.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors of Science, or Masters of Science in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related degree
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant air quality and/or compliance consulting experience
  • Experience working with Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT
  • Experience writing comprehensive technical reports
  • Effective management of multiple air quality and environmental compliance projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel by airplane and car, including occasional overnight travel

  • Develop and complete accurate air quality permits for Title V, PSD, and New Source Review compliance
  • Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance
  • Prepare and quantify emissions estimates, including emission calculation spreadsheets and data bases for stationary and non-stationary sources
  • Evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment
  • Assist clients with MACT compliance programs
  • Prepare Best Available Control Technology analyses
  • Conduct air dispersion modeling using USEPA-approved models and guidance
  • Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
  • Assist clients with compliance programs
  • Effectively manage project teams across multiple SLR office locations, including appropriate delegation of project assignments to team members
  • Conduct short-duration travel to attend client and project meetings
