Synopsis:

SLR International Corporation is seeking a US Lead for its Industry Services Sector. The Industry Sector Leader is a member of the US Senior Management Team and will report to the US President.  Primary responsibilities include administering business development activities and driving business growth within the Industry Services Sector and regionally. In addition to providing strategic leadership, the candidate will have a demonstrated record of hands-on client and business development. A key function of this position is maintaining and creating a presence for SLR within a variety of business subsectors in the US. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated and willing to engage with potential clients, bring in projects, and coordinate support services from various SLR offices and locations. As a strategic leader, candidates should also be prepared to attend and present information at association meetings, conferences, and other events, in order to advance SLR's presence and awareness within the industrial sector. Target geographical locations for the qualified candidate include Irvine, Portland, Seattle, Houston, Denver, or Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and successfully procure new project work.
  • Identify strategic project opportunities for priority clients.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop a strategic plan for the sector.
  • Monitor sector trends, developments and client activity, identifying business risks and opportunities.
  • Develop sector business plan and monitor progress against plan goals on an on-going basis.

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years consulting and group management experience.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining client networks and account management.
  • Able to achieve business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
  • An understanding of various business subsectors and applicable technical services including, but not limited to: general manufacturing, pharmaceutical, agriculture, chemicals, steel, wood products, paper products, and transportation manufacturing.
  • Strong client network is essential to success.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and management.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Physical Science or related field required.
  • Track record of providing multiple technical services to business subsectors.
  • Recognized technical expertise with an established reputation in the local and regional marketplace.
  • Previous experience with a small to midsize consultancy is appreciated.
  • Ability to travel by airplane and car including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license required.
